For
 who's Christmas wish was a picture of Princess Serenity in any form dancing in the moonlight.She asked for Serenity in any form (anime or manga) with a bit of uniqueness thrown in. She's supposed to be dancing, but I think that by adding the staff in her far hand I ended up making her look a bit stiffer then I had intended. Usually when I draw Serenity, it's in anime form, even though I think the manga design is so much prettier. I just always figured my style was more tuned to the anime version, and I like to be as true to the original character as possible. So this time I drew her in sort of an anime/manga hybrid form, taking elements from Naoko's earlier concept sketches, as well as making slight alterations. I had lots of fun with this piece, and it's for a very sweet artist, whom I admire. So Merry Christmas ! I hope you like your gift. |

I'm the kind of person who does tai chi because it inspired waterbending, thinks arguing over Kolob is fun, has friends ask me for updates on Harry Potter, and would rather get a jar of pickles than a dozen roses.
I have to admit, I squeeked when I saw this, I was SO happy to receive a gift from YOU! I think your art is absolutely GORGEOUS, so this is such an honor!
I really, really like how you combined the manga and anime designs and created something new and really interesting. ^^ I especially had to giggle when I looked at her crown, it's so cute!
Thank you once again, and I hope to some day have enough free time to draw a little gift for you, too, not related to Secret Santa. ^^ Just because I am so in love with this piece!
